about me
How did I get here?
My professional holistic journey started at the beginning of 2023. Knowing how challenging it is to advocate for myself in pain and feeling out of control of my pain, I enrolled in the Bay Area Doula program. It was a fruitful journey that provided me with methods and coping tools ranging from physical to emotional - I use them almost everyday both professionally and personally. I ultimately decided it wasn’t the right fit at the moment, though I do look forward to pursue it again in the future.
In the Summer of 2024, I went onboard with National Holistic Institute. Joining San Jose’s NHI family, I gained incredible knowledge beyond massage modalities and techniques. I acquired proper and in-depth education on anatomy, physiology, business, and leading a successful lifestyle. NHI’s Student Teaching Clinic pushed me to strengthen my skill sets and confidence by working with public clients.
My externship site, Jane Colacicco Craniosacral Therapy, connected me with my first set of regular clients and opened the door to my passion for energy work. These wonderful women worked diligently with me to make sure I had everything I needed to thrive in school and in my profession. When I wasn’t doing massage, I was observing craniosacral sessions and given hands-on training in preparation for Upledger Institute’s Craniosacral course. I plan to complete CS1 by the start of 2026.
With the influence of NHI’s amazing staff, fellow students, and incredible practitioners, I graduated from the Core program March 2025. I am currently continuing my education with NHI’s Advanced NeuroMuscular Therapy program.
What makes my craft unique?
As an individual diagnosed with a chronic illness, I have firsthand knowledge and experience living a life with complex pain. I have been exposed to many trials and tribulations when it comes to finding a solution for my health. I know how discouraging it is to be told “there’s nothing wrong”, “I’m not sure what else we could do”, or “it’s all in your head”. I’m significantly familiar with how severe chronic pain could affect almost every aspect of life - working, education, career, socializing, relationships, mental health, physical well-being, body image, family planning, future planning, routine, all of it. When you’re not healthy, everything in your body hurts. Getting into the routine of receiving holistic care changed my world - I’m beyond grateful for the ways it has improved my quality of life. The reason I’m able to manage my symptoms better than before is because my holistic practitioners have established a safe space for me to be in pain and work towards a solution. Knowing you can trust your practitioner is vital - you should feel like you’re in the right place! You should feel confident about being able to progress and lead a better way of living! My experiences gave me a strong desire to help people that are trying to get by with what I’ve gone through. I absolutely enjoy sharing what I know and applying it to someone else because it means I’m able to facilitate at least one positive change in their lifestyle.
It is possible to keep pain from running your life - there is always a way, and we will find it together.
